What is a search ring anyway?
To us Tower Seekers, the search ring opens the door to possibilities. Search rings are areas where cell phone coverage or capacity is lacking. They are usually made up of a center point expressed as map coordinates and a defined area surrounding it. If you picture a map, you can visualize the yellow stick pin with a circle drawn around it. The goal is to locate the new cell site inside the ring. If no candidates are available, then the site will be located outside the ring as close to the ideal spot as possible. As time goes on, finding viable candidates inside search rings gets more difficult. First they are getting much smaller, second the areas where new rings appear have zoning and other restrictions and impediments. For example, many new rings are located in residential areas where such zoning issues and local residents objections can occur.
Tower Seekers’ clients are well situated for consideration as cell site landlords. As willing and friendly landlords, they are a solution to a sometimes difficult search ring location.
